shortly after Helen’s death John receives a package from his now deceased wife, inside he finds a puppy that his wife has selected, to be there for John and help him through the grieving process, of course John instantly bonds with the puppy. Or so he thought, unfortunately fate has other things in store as John’s wife Helen(Bridget Moynahan) dies of a un-named natural causes. John is a man with a secret past, that he has successfully moved on from and settled down with a loving wife intent on starting a family…. We then flash forward back to the events that led to this. John Wick opens with a battered and beaten John Wick collapsing on the ground in a heap, apparently in the final gasps of his life. As a consequence I can't see in iTunes either.Common decency says you never kick a man while he is down, something that the villains of John Wick would have done well to heed. My linked Movies Anywhere account doesn't pick it up because John is LionsGate and Movies Anywhere doesn't deal with LionsGate. It seems I can only watch the digital version in VUDU. It shows up as a bundled title and is in UHD version.
I wanted Fandango but the code did not work. It is redeemed at a third party site and gives you a choice to get the digital version at either Fandango or VUDU.
In addition, there is a single digital code. Inside, there are 4 discs as follows: John Wick in 4K, John Wick in BluRay, John Wick 2 in 4K, and John Wick 2 in BluRay. However, you can immediately tell from the weight there is more than the usual two discs that typically come in the standard 4K DVD case. This package is a typical DVD case with slip cover. I wanted this review to focus on the package this is which I don't see in any reviews here or even the product description so here goes. Got this for $20+tax and I just watched the first of the two movies and it was amazing.can't wait to watch part 2. Highly recommended, especially to fans of Keano Reeves! Even at $44 for a dould DVD set (2 discs for each film), the Best Buy price was the best I found anywhere. Since these are both relatively new on 4K UHD Blu Ray, the price is a bit steep, but the prices will drop as they make the move to the bargain bins. This set also contains digital codes for digital copies for online viewing via iTunes, Movies Anywhere, Vudu, and Amazon Prime Video and I looked at both of these films online and those transfers are also excellent. There are plenty of extras for both films including excellent "making of" featurettes, out-takes and lots more.
are on a the standard Blu Ray discs (with 2K transfers of the films) and are 1920 X 1080 or 2K. As is usually the case, the bonus features/extras etc. It's totally immersive to use a quote on the packaging. The Dolby Atmos audio is perfect with distinct sounds from all 7 channels. Otherwise, both films have excellent HDR, colors are true and balanced and the blacks and whites are great. To be honest, I couldn't tell the difference in quality between these films so while I understand the dilemma, it's absolutely not an issue to me. The second film was edited in 2K, so some of the internet sites would call this "Fake 4K". Both films are excellent transfers, with the first one a true 4K transfer (shot in 4K, edited and mastered in 4K and presented in 2K Ultra HD (3840 × 2160) on this set. I won't write about the movies themselves, just this presentation.
